Of course financial
donations are very very welcome. But there are many other ways to help us. Here
are just a few ideas.
Adopt a dog.
On our special page
you can see the dogs we have in our care for adoption at the moment.
Don't forget that
most strays are very grateful and loving creatures. You will be well rewarded
by giving them a safe and loving home.
Be a supporter/fundraiser
By raising money at
home at car boot sales, runs, walks or any other event you can think of.
Lend us your crafts
If you are keen on crafts, why not make a few things that we can sell in our webshop or at the car boot sales here on the
island?
Bring back our travel boxes
Travel boxes are very expensive so if you fly from
Düsseldorf or Cologne please contact us. If we have any boxes over there that you
can bring to Thassos with your baggage, this gives us the chance to transport
another animal to its new life.
Be a flight partner
Help to take a dog
to its new home abroad. Since we can't just put animals on the plane, we need
people to escort them. It is very easy to do: of course we will pay for its
ticket, arrange transport of the dog to the airport and organise the dog's the check-in procedure.
At the arrival airport our contact will wait for you to take over the dog and
its passport.
It would be ideal
of course if you contact us before
you come to Thassos, so we have all the time to arrange everything.
At the moment we have a halfway home in Germany near Düsseldorf/Cologne.
Medical materials
Our vet can do the sterilizations cheaper for us if we provide him operation materials. So if you have connections in the medical world, may be you can help us?
What we need is: sterile operating gloves nr. 8, stitches 3/0 pga or vicryl (soluble but not Rapid!), sterile gauzes, betadine scrub.
And ofcourse always flea drops and worm tablets.
For those people
living on Thassos:
- Our rescued animals are always in need of permanent loving homes. Alternatively, could you perhaps offer a short term foster home? The costs (transport, food, medical treatment etc.) will be met by ACT. All you have to do is provide the TLC! (Tender Love and Care)
- You can help with transporting dogs to the airport.
- If you have a (used) kennel or shelter you don't need anymore, please give it to us.
- If you have anything which we could possibly use for the animals (such as old towels, blankets, transport boxes, collars, leads, medicines etc.) then please contact us to arrange collection.
